How to Pamper Mom #FinishPowerandFree

“Disclosure – I am participating in the Finish® Power & Free Blogger Campaign on behalf of Finish®.  I received compensation as a thank you for participating and for sharing my honest opinion. The opinions on this blog are my own.”

Pamper Mom

As a mom, I am always on the go. With three young children, I often find myself lacking sleep and rarely with any time to myself. Scratch that, almost never any time to myself! Yet, I wouldn’t change it for the world. My children are my everything. However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t value pampering myself when I can. Sometimes it is the littlest things that can make all the difference. For me, that may mean enjoying a cup of tea for a few minutes while my youngest naps, or just putting my feet up and snuggling with one of my cats.

Since we all have mothers in our lives, it is about time to start thinking of ways to pamper them. It doesn’t have to mean running out and spending ridiculous amounts of money, or even making her leave the house. Though, she may very well want to escape once in a while. How to pamper mom is about giving her the time to actually enjoy the day and not having to worry about the mess in the kitchen, the laundry in the hall, or the little one turning the living room wall into a crayon “masterpiece.” Basically, most moms just want a break. They want to know their children and the house are being taken care, so that they can have some time to themselves.

Since one of the busiest and messiest rooms in the house is the kitchen, why not give mom a break and do the dirty work for her. Take out the trash, cleanup the counters, sweep, steam the floor and do the dishes. This is where Finish comes in. Their newest product, Finish Power & Free uses Hydrogen Peroxide Action, so there are fewer harsh chemicals, but the same great clean. With a great line-up of products {Quantum, Powerball, and Jet-Dry}, mom will definitely be impressed!

I personally had the opportunity to try Finish Power & Free and what stood out most is the fact it cleaned just as well as the original, despite having fewer chemicals. I feel safer using this product on my dishes and I don’t have to compromise the quality of the clean! Yay!

Valentine Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

One of my favourite aspects of baking is being able to take a classic recipe and putting a twist on it. After all, why change something that is delicious to begin with unless it is to make it even better!

My family’s all-time favourite cookies are without a doubt chocolate chip. You can pair them with milk, eat them warm, or simply enjoy them straight out of the fridge. They satisfy the need for something chewy as well as something chocolaty! I have a few different recipes I use for chocolate chip cookies, but my most recent favourite comes from the Kirkland Chocolate Chips that you can find at Costco! I simply gave them a splash of colour and Valentine Chocolate Chip Cookies were born!

Valentine Candy ~ Cupcake Surprise

Valentine’s Day for me always includes some delicious baked goodies! This year, I wanted to try something a little different and thought, why not make my own Valentine Candy? To add to the awesome, the Bulk Barn just opened up on my side of town and I can actually walk to it! I was so excited and a little worried that I may be there more than a few times a week. {hehe}

I went looking for some baking necessities and ended up coming up with my newest yummy creation, Valentine Cupcake Candy Surprise. Best of all, they were super easy to make and my children went crazy for them!Valentine Candy Cupcake Surprise

You will need:

Candy Melts {I used Wilton in 2 flavours}

Cupcake Candy Mold

Valentine Candy for the “surprise inside”

Valentine Cupcake Candy

To start, I put the desired amount of candy melts into disposable plastic decorating bags. I then microwaved the melts until they were melted. If you don’t have decorating bags, you can easily use a sandwich bag as well. I cut a tip at the end of the bag and squeezed the melts into the candy mold. Each mold has a fill line, so it makes it pretty clear cut.

I simply cooled the candy in the mold in the fridge for several minutes and popped it in the freezer for 2 minutes prior to removing. I used a peeler to smooth the edges of the chocolate and filled with some fun Valentine Hearts!

This was without a doubt one of the easiest homemade candy recipes I have ever had the pleasure of making. After all, who doesn’t love an adorable cupcake candy surprise?
