In my household, a favorite character for my children is Curious George! The adorable little monkey is found in my Son’s books, in our DVD collection and constantly on the TV. So it was great to see that Curious George fans are being offered a fantastic way to express their creativity, enjoy a fun exercise and express themselves with the Curious George Dance Contest!
Contest Details: ”Parents and guardians are invited to enter a video of their child dancing to the Curious George theme song for a chance to be featured on a Curious George DVD. They might even win a visit from George himself! A panel of judges will review the video submissions and pick 10 finalists. Enthusiasm, creativity and originality are key! Contest ends April 2nd. The public voting period is April 16-April 30 with the Grand Prize Winner announced in May. The Winner as well as 9 Runners up will receive a Curious George Curiousity Kit, which includes a Curious George DVD, Complete Adventures Book, Hide and Seek Zoo Game and more!”

The Curious George Dance Contest is open to legal residents of the US who are 18 years of age+ and the parent or legal guardian of a child between the ages of 1 and 8.
What I love most about this contest is the fact that whether your child’s video wins or not, they get to engage in dancing, which is a fabulous way for kids to get exercise and learn at the same time! While visiting the Curious George Contest, be sure to scroll down and visit the Benefits of Dancing Page, which features the wonderful benefits of dancing, family activities that you and your child can do together, activity sheets and more!
I encourage parents to enter this contest, but more importantly, I encourage you to incorporate dance into your child’s every routine. My children absolutely love to dance around the living room to their favorite music and thanks to the benefit of dancing suggestions, they now get to enjoy some Curious George-inspired dance fun!
